About Us- Welcome!
Hi and welcome to our site! We are delighted to announce a new program for children to develop their maximum performance potential! Broadway In the Mountains is a two week-long performance intensive camp in the beautiful town of Hunter NY, for young performers ages 10-18. Our program uses a unique approach to performing in front of any audience. In addition to learning proper performance technique, our faculty is trained to teach children how to deal with common obstacles such as nervousness, stage fright, feeling less than 100 percent, the “pressure” of auditions, competition, etc - all in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Dates
July 9th-22nd, 2017
Broadway in the Mountains is a unique "boutique" theatre intensive that focuses on skills used for performing as an actor/singer/dancer. This program provides training and creative work in dance, voice, and drama, and culminates in performances of scenes/songs from Broadway shows to challenge our young performers. The last day of the week will culminate in a showcase on Saturday open to industry professionals, family, friends, and the community.

Location
Broadway in the Mountains is situated in the town of Hunter, NY in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, two hours north of New York City. In the winter this is a major ski resort, but in the summer it becomes a haven for vacationers escaping the heat of the city. A beautiful creek runs through town, adding to the unspoiled natural beauty of the environment.
Facilities and Housing
Students live in houses/dormitories owned by the Catskill Mountain Foundation and there are camp counselors living in every house. The facilities are all newly renovated and the maximum per room is 3 or less. All housing, rehearsal rooms, and performances take place on the BinM campus. Performances are held in the “Red Barn”, a performance loft, and the Doctorow Center, which includes 3 theaters and a 160 seat newly renovated concert hall with a Steinway Grand Piano.
Meals
Students and faculty eat together at the cafe on campus, enjoying healthful meals prepared by a gourmet chef, using locally grown produce. All meals are included with tuition, and special menus can be requested in advance. We are very conscious of allergies, etc. We want everyone to be well fed and happy!
Recreation
Recreational activities include art-house and popular films at the Doctorow Center, a spacious green for frisbee, volleyball and other games, campfire cookouts and, of course, open mic nights where students can perform for each other!
Our History
Our first year in the mountains was a huge success and our second year will be even better! Our sponsors, the Catskill Mountain Foundation, have run fine arts and chamber music programs for many years, and their sponsorship of a professional music theater program has allowed us to prosper and grow. Being a part of this unique experience will create lasting memories and skills that will benefit your child for years to come.
